Updating The Alim 6.0 keyboard map for the missing letter 'baa'
The Alim 6.0.11 has a minor bug in the Arabic keyboard map file. It seems that the letter 'baa' was
mistakenly left out of the mapping. This problem does not in any way affect the accuracy
of The Arabic Qur'an. To correct this problem, please
- Make sure that The Alim is already Installed.
- Make sure that you are not running The Alim.
- Download the new Arabic map file (Arabic.aml) by clicking on the link below.
- When asked to save the file, save the file into the Data directory
where you installed The Alim. If you accepted the default at
installation time, the directory where you will place Arabic.aml will be C:\Program Files\ISL Software Corporation\The Alim\Data.
- When you save the file, Windows will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file; please answer yes. If you
do not get a question asking if you want to overwrite the existing file, then you saved the file in the
wrong directory (meaning it's not the Data directory under where you installed The Alim).
- After you have downloaded and saved the file to the proper Data directory you
can run The Alim and verify the fix.
Click here to download Arabic.aml now. If, after clicking on the link,
you don't see a popup dialog box asking you to save a file, then right-click on the link and choose
"Save As..." instead.
