Surah 11. Hud, Ayah 76



يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَٰذَا ۖ إِنَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَإِنَّهُمْ آتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ


Transliteration : yaa 'ibraahem acrid. can haadhaa 'inna -hu qad jaa'a 'amr rabb -ka wa- 'inna -hum 'aate -him cadhaab ghayr mardod
Pickthall : (It was said) O Abraham! Forsake this! Lo! thy Lord's commandment hath gone forth, and lo! there cometh unto them a doom which cannot be repelled.
Asad : [But God's messengers replied:] "O Abraham! Desist from this [pleading]! Behold, thy Sustainer's judgment has already gone forth: and, verily, there shall fall upon them a chastisement which none can avert!"
Malik : The angels said: "O Ibrahim! Leave this topic. The decree of your Rabb has already been issued, now there must come to them a punishment that cannot be averted!"
Yusuf Ali : O Abraham! seek not this. The decree of thy Lord hath gone forth: for them there cometh a Penalty that cannot be turned back! 1573

Yusuf Ali 1573 This is a sort of prophetic apostrophe. 'O Abraham! All your warning. O Lut, will be unheeded! Alas! they are so deep in sin that nothing will reclaim them!' This is illustrated in verse 79 below. And now we proceed to Lut and how he was dealt with by the wicked.
