Surah 12. Yusuf, Ayah 22
| وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | wa- lammaa balagha ashudd -hu 'aataynaa -hu h.ukm(an) wa- cilm(an) wa- ka- dhaalika najze al- muh.sinen |
| Pickthall | : | And when he reached his prime We gave him wisdom and knowledge. Thus We reward the good. |
| Asad | : | And when he reached full manhood, We bestowed upon him the ability to judge [between right and wrong], as well as [innate] knowledge: for thus do We reward the doers of good. |
| Malik | : | When he reached maturity, We bestowed on him wisdom and knowledge. Thus do We reward the righteous. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | When Joseph attained his full manhood We gave him power and knowledge: thus do We reward those who do right. 1664 1665 |
Note - 1664When Joseph left Canaan, he was a young and immature lad,
but his nature was innocent and good. Through the
vicissitudes of his fortune in Egypt, he grew in
knowledge, judgment, and power.

Note - 1665Muhsinin: those who do right, those who do good. Both
ideas are implied. In following right conduct, you are
necessarily doing good to yourself and to others.
