Surah 16. An-Nahl, Ayah 100
| إِنَّمَا سُلْطَانُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِهِ مُشْرِكُونَ |
| Transliteration | : | 'inna-maa sult.aan -hu calaa 'alladhena yatawallawna -hu wa- 'alladhena hum bi- -hi mushrikon |
| Pickthall | : | His power is only over those who make a friend of him, and those who ascribe partners unto Him (Allah). |
| Asad | : | he has power only over those who are willing to follow him,123 and who [thus] ascribe to him a share in God's divinity.124 |
| Malik | : | His authority is only over those who befriend him and commit shirk by his temptation. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | His authority is over those only who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah. |

Note - 124I.e., inasmuch as they pay an almost worshipful reverence
to such blandishments as wealth, power, social position,
etc.
