Surah 17. Al-Israa, Ayah 94
| وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَىٰ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا أَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ بَشَرًا رَسُولًا |
| Transliteration | : | wa- maa manaca an- naas 'an yu'mino 'idh jaa'a -hum al- hudaa 'illaa 'an qaalo 'a- bacatha 'allaah bashar(an) rasol(an) |
| Pickthall | : | And naught prevented mankind from believing when the guidance came unto them save that they said: Hath Allah sent a mortal as (His) messenger? |
| Asad | : | Yet whenever [God's] guidance came to them [through a prophet,] nothing has ever kept people from believing [in him] save this their objection:111 "Would God have sent a [mere] mortal man as His apostle?" |
| Malik | : | Nothing prevented people from belief when guidance came to them except the excuse: "What! Has Allah sent a man like us to be a Rasool?" |
| Yusuf Ali | : | What kept men back from Belief when Guidance came to them was nothing but this: they said "Has Allah sent a man like us) to be (His) Apostle?" 2299 |
