Surah 19. Maryam, Ayah 65
| رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا |
| Transliteration | : | rabb as- samaawaat wa- al- 'ard. wa- maa bayna -humaa fa- ucbud -hu wa- is.t.abir li- cibaadah -hi hal taclam la- -hu samey(an) |
| Pickthall | : | Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Therefor, worship thou Him and be thou steadfast in His service. Knowest thou one that can be named along with Him? 66. And man saith: When I am dead, shall I forsooth be brought forth alive? |
| Asad | : | the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Worship, then, Him alone, and remain steadfast in His worship! Dost thou know any whose name is worthy to be men-tioned side by side with His?" |
| Malik | : | He is the Rabb of the heavens and the earth, and of all that lies in between, so worship Him, be steadfast in His worship. Do you know any other being with the qualities like Him?" |
| Yusuf Ali | : | "Lord of the heavens and of the earth and of all that is between them: so worship Him and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?" 2515 |
Note - 2515The more we taste of the truth and mystery of life, the
more do we realise that there is no one to be mentioned
in the same breath as Allah. He is above all names. But
when we think of His beautiful qualities, and picture
them to ourselves by names which give us some idea of
Him, we can search the whole wide world of our
imagination, and we shall not find another to be compared
with Him in name or quality. He is the One: praise be to
Him!

The more we taste of the truth and mystery of life, the more do we realise that there is no one to be mentioned in the same breath as Allah. He is above all names. But when we think of His beautiful qualities, and picture them to ourselves by names which give us some idea of Him, we can search the whole wide world of our imagination, and we shall not find another to be compared with Him in name or quality.
