أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُوا عَهْدًا نَبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ


Asad : Is it not so that every time they made a promise [unto God], some of them cast it aside? Nay, indeed: most of them do not believe.
Khattab :

Why is it that every time they make a covenant, a group of them casts it aside? In fact, most of them do not believe.

Malik : Has it not been the case that every time they made a covenant a group of them threw it aside? But the fact is that most of them are faithless.
Pickthall : Is it ever so that when ye make a covenant a party of you set it aside? The truth is, most of them believe not.
Yusuf Ali : Is it not (the case) that every time they make a Covenant some party among them throw it aside? - Nay most of them are faithless.
Transliteration : Awakullama AAahadoo AAahdan nabathahu fareequn minhum bal aktharuhum la yuminoona
