Surah 2. Al-Baqara, Ayah 227
| وَإِنْ عَزَمُوا الطَّلَاقَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration | : | wa- 'in cazamo at.- t.alaaq fa- 'inna 'allaah samec calem |
| Pickthall | : | And if they decide upon divorce (let them remember that) Allah is Hearer, Knower. |
| Asad | : | But if they are resolved on divorce - behold, God is all-hearing, all-knowing. |
| Malik | : | But if they decide to divorce them, they may do so, surely Allah hears and knows everything. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | But if their intention is firm for divorce Allah heareth and knoweth all things. 253 |
Note - 253Verses 225-27 should be read together with verse 224.
The latter, though it is perfectly general, leads up to
the other three.
