أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ


Asad : Or do they say, "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest!40
Khattab :

Or ˹because˺ they say, “He is insane?” In fact, he has come to them with the truth, but most of them are resentful of the truth.

Malik : Or are they really convinced that he is a madman? Nay! In fact he has brought them the Truth and most of them dislike the Truth.
Pickthall : Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth.
Yusuf Ali : Or do they say "He is possessed"? Nay he has brought them the Truth but most of them hate the Truth.
Transliteration : Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahum bialhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoona
Transliteration : Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahum bialhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoona

Asad 40 I.e., they hate to admit the truth: the reason being - as the sequence shows - that the world-view propounded by the Qur'an is not in accord with their own likes and dislikes or preconceived notions.
