لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ

Asad : Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]?3
Khattab :

Perhaps you ˹O Prophet˺ will grieve yourself to death over their disbelief.

Malik : O Muhammad, you will perhaps fret yourself to death with grief because they do not believe.
Pickthall : It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not.
Yusuf Ali : It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief that they do not become Believers. 3139
Transliteration : LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka alla yakoonoo mumineena

Yusuf Ali 3139 "They" are the Pagans of Makkah. From a human point of view it was a great disappointment to Allah's Messenger in the middle period of his Makkan ministry that the Makkan could not be brought to believe in the Truth.
