Surah 29. Al-Ankabut, Ayah 27
| وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | wa- wahabnaa la- -hu 'ish.aaq wa- yacqob wa- jacalnaa fe dhurreyah -hi an- nubowah wa- al- kitaab wa- 'aataynaa -hu 'ajr -hu fe ad- dunyaa wa- 'inna -hu fe al- 'aakhirah la- min as.- s.aalih.en |
| Pickthall | : | And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the Prophethood and the Scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous. |
| Asad | : | And [as for Abraham,] We bestowed upon him Isaac and [Isaac's son] Jacob,22 and caused pro-phethood and revelation to continue among his offspring. And We vouchsafed him his reward in this world;23 and, verily, in the life to come [too] he shall find himself among the righteous. |
| Malik | : | We gave him Ishaq (Isaac - a son) and Ya'qoob (Jacob - a grandson), and placed the Prophethood and the Book in his progeny - thus We gave him his reward in this life, and in the hereafter he will surely be among the righteous. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous. 3447 3448 |
Note - 22I.e., in addition to Ishmael (Isma'il), who had been born
some years earlier (cf. 21:72).

Note - 3447Isaac was Abraham's son and Jacob his grandson, and among
his progeny was included Isma'il the eldest son of
Abraham. Each of these became a fountain-head of Prophecy
and Revelation, Isaac and Jacob through Moses, and
Isma'il through the holy Prophet Muhammad. Jacob got the
name of "Israel" at Bethel: Gen. 32:28; 35:10, and his
progeny got the title of "The Children of Israel".
