Surah 29. Al-Ankabut, Ayah 51



أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ


Transliteration : 'a- wa- lam yakfi -him 'an(na) -naa anzalnaa calay -ka al- kitaab yutlaa calay -him 'inna fe dhaalika la- rah.mah wa- dhikraa li- qawm yu'minon
Pickthall : Is it not enough for them that We have sent down unto thee the Scripture which is read unto them? Lo! herein verily is mercy, and a reminder for folk who believe.
Asad : Why - is it not enough for them that We have bestowed this divine writ on thee from on high, to be conveyed [by thee] to them?50 For, verily, in it is [manifested Our] grace, and a reminder to people who will believe.
Malik : Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you this Book (AL-Qur'an) which is recited to them, surely in it is a blessing and a reminder for those who believe.
Yusuf Ali : And is it not enough for them that We have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily in it is Mercy and Reminder to those who believe. 3482

Yusuf Ali 3482 The perspicuous Qur-an, explained in detail by Allah's Messenger, in conjunction with Allah's Signs in nature and in the hearts of men, should be enough for all. It is mere fractious opposition to demand vaguely something more. Cf. also vi. 124, and n. 946.
