يَوْمَ يَغْشَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ


Asad : [encompass them] on the Day when suffering will overwhelm them from above them and from beneath their feet,52 whereupon He shall say: "Taste [now the fruit ofl your own doines!"
Khattab :

on the Day the punishment will overwhelm them from above them and from below their feet. And it will be said, “Reap what you sowed.”

Malik : On that Day the punishment shall cover them from above and from beneath their feet, and Allah will say: "Now taste the reward of your deeds."
Pickthall : On the day when the doom will overwhelm them from above them and from underneath their feet, and He will say: Taste what ye used to do!
Yusuf Ali : On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them and (a Voice) shall say: "Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds!" 3487 3488
Transliteration : Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona

Yusuf Ali 3488 This is not merely a reproach, but a justification of the Punishment. "It is you who brought it on yourselves by your evil deeds: blame none but yourselves. Allah's Mercy gave you many chances: His Justice has now overtaken you!"
