وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ 
  Wai tha  massa a l nn a sa  d urrun daAAaw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma i tha  a tha qahum minhu ra h matan i tha  fareequn minhum birabbihim yushrikoon a      NOW [thus it is:] when affliction befalls men, they cry out unto    their Sustainer, turning unto Him [for help]; but as soon as He    lets them taste of His grace, lo! some of them [begin to] ascribe    to other powers a share in their Sustainer's divinity,30

When an affliction befalls the people, they turn in prayer to    their Rabb in repentance. But when He let them taste a blessing    from Him, lo! Some of them start committing shirk,
