وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ


Asad : and, verily, [tO this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings53 at morning-time
Khattab :

You ˹Meccans˺ certainly pass by their ruins day

Malik : Surely you pass by their ruins by day
Pickthall : And Lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning
Yusuf Ali : Verily ye pass by their (sites) by day 4118
Transliteration : Wainnakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena

Asad 53 Lit., "you pass by them", i.e., by the places where they lived (see 15:76 and the corresponding note [55]).

Yusuf Ali 4118 Cf. xv. 76, and n. 1998. The tract where they lay is situated on the highway to Syria where the Arab caravans travelled regularly, "by day and by night". Could not future generations learn wisdom from the destruction of those who did wrong?
