وَالَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ


Asad : and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive;
Khattab :

who avoid major sins and shameful deeds, and forgive when angered;

Malik : avoid major sins and shameful deeds, forgive even when they are angry;
Pickthall : And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive,
Yusuf Ali : Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds and when they are angry even then forgive; 4577
Transliteration : Waallatheena yajtaniboona kabaira alithmi waalfawahisha waitha ma ghadiboo hum yaghfiroona

Yusuf Ali 4577 Here we are speaking of the ordinary man or woman who tries to follow Allah's Law: he or she is not perfect, but at least eschews the major breaches of conduct. For those higher in spiritual degree there is of course a stricter standard. But all are entitled to the blessing of Islam, whatever their degree.
