Surah 5. Al-Maida, Ayah 43
| Transliteration | : | 'a- lam taclam 'anna 'allaah la- -hu mulk as- samaawaat wa- al- 'ard. yucadhdhib man yashaa' wa- yaghfir li- man yashaa' wa- 'allaah calaa kull shay' qader |
| Pickthall | : | How come they unto thee for judgment when they have the Torah, wherein Allah hath delivered judgment (for them)? Yet even after that they turn away. Such (folk) are not believers. |
| Asad | : | But how is it that they ask thee for judgment - seeing that they have the Torah, containing God's injunctions - and thereafter turn away [from thy judgment]? Such as these, then, are no [true] believers.57 |
| Malik | : | But why do they come to you for judgement when they have the Taurat which contains Allah's commandments? Yet they turn back after that. In fact, they are not true believers. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | But why do they come to thee for decision when they have (their own) laws before them? Therein is the (plain) command of Allah; yet even after that they would turn away. For they are not (really) people of faith. 749 |
