Surah 53. An-Najm, Ayah 25
| فَلِلَّهِ الْآخِرَةُ وَالْأُولَىٰ |
| Transliteration | : | fa- li- 'allaah al- 'aakhirah wa- al- 'olaa |
| Pickthall | : | But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former. |
| Asad | : | despite the fact that [both] the life to come and this present [one] belong to God [alone]?18 |
| Malik | : | Nay! To Allah belongs the hereafter and this present life. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. |
Note - 18I.e., despite the fact (which is the meaning of the
particle fa in this context) that God is omnipotent and
omniscient and does not, therefore, require any
"mediator" between Himself and His creatures.
