كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ


Asad : like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells.
Khattab :

like pristine pearls,

Malik : as lovely as well guarded pearls
Pickthall : Like unto hidden pearls,
Yusuf Ali : Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 5234
Transliteration : Kaamthali allului almaknooni

Yusuf Ali 5234 Cf. lii. 24, where this description is applied to the youths who serve. See also n. 5058 there. In lvi. 78 below the adjective maknun is applied to the Qur-an, "the well guarded Book".
