Surah 6. Al-An'am, Ayah 56
| قُلْ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۚ قُلْ لَا أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَاءَكُمْ ۙ قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | qul 'inni -y nuhetu 'an acbud 'alladhena tadcon min doni 'allaah qul laa attabic ahwaa' -kum qad d.alaltu 'idhan wa- maa 'anaa min al- muhtaden |
| Pickthall | : | Say: I am forbidden to worship those on whom ye call instead of Allah. Say: I will not follow your desires, for then should I go astray and I should not be of the rightly guided. |
| Asad | : | SAY [to the deniers of the truth]: "Behold, I have been forbidden to worship those [beings] whom you invoke instead of God." Say: "I do not follow your errant views - or else I should have gone astray, and should not be among those who have found the right path." |
| Malik | : | O Muhammad, tell them: "I am forbidden to worship those whom you call upon besides Allah." Say: "I am not going to follow your wishes: if I do, I would be lost and cease to be from the rightly guided." |
| Yusuf Ali | : | Say. I am forbidden to worship those other than Allah whom ye call upon." Say: "I will not follow your vain desires: if I did I would stray from the path and be not of the company of those who receive guidance." 876 |
