Surah 66. At-Tahrim, Ayah 12
| وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرَانَ الَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقَانِتِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | wa- maryam ibnat cimraan 'allate ah.s.anat farj -haa fa- nafakhnaa fe -hi min roh. -naa wa- s.addaqat bi- kalimaat rabb -haa wa- kutub -hi wa- kaanat min al- qaaniten |
| Pickthall | : | And Mary, daughter of Imran, whose body was chaste, therefor We breathed therein something of Our Spirit. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His Scriptures, and was of the obedient. |
| Asad | : | And [We have propounded yet another parable of God-consciousness in the story of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran,24 who guarded her chastity, whereupon We breathed of Our spirit into that [which was in her womb],25 and who accepted the truth of her Sustainer's words - and [thus,] of His revelations26 - and was one of the truly devout. |
| Malik | : | Another example is in the life of Maryam, the daughter of `Imran, who guarded her chastity, and into whose womb We breathed of Our spirit, who testified to the words of her Rabb, and His scriptures, and was one of the obedient. |
