Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, If anyone says "There is no god but Allah and Allah is Most Great", his Lord will declare that he has spoken the truth, saying, "There is no god but Me, and I am Most Great." When he says, "There is no god but Allah alone Who has no partner," Allah says, "There is no god but Me alone Who have no partner." When he says, "There is no god but Allah to Whom belongs the dominion and to Whom praise is due," He says, "There is no god but Me to Whom belongs the dominion and to Whom praise is due." When he says, "There is no god but Allah, and there is no might and no power except in Allah," He says, "There is no god but Me, and there is no might and no power except in Me." He used to say that if anyone said these words in his last illness, Hell would not devour him.
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him ) said, "If the inhabitants of heaven and earth were to share in (shedding) the blood of a believer, Allah would overturn them in Hell."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a gharib tradition.
(The tradition mentioned above (No. 3330) has also beentransmitted by AbuSafwan ibn Umayrah through a different chain ofnarrators.) This version has: AbuSafwan said: I came to theApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) at Mecca before hisimmigration. He then narrated the rest of the tradition, but hedid not mention the words "who was weighing for payment".
Uthman said to him on the day of the house, Allah's messenger (peace be upon him) made a covenant with me and I shall show endurance in adhering to it."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is hasan sahih tradition.
A man led the people in prayer. He spat towards qiblah while theApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) was looking at him. TheApostle of Allah said to the people when he finished his prayer:He should not lead you in prayer (henceforth).Thenceforth heintended to lead them in prayer, but they forbade him andinformed him of the prohibition of the Apostle of Allah (peace beupon him). He mentioned it to the Apostle of Allah (peace be uponhim) who said to him: Yes. The narrator said: I think he (theProphet) said: You did harm to Allah and His Apostle.
AbuSalam reported on the authority of a man from the companion ofthe Prophet (peace be upon him). He said: We attacked a tribe ofJuhaynah. A man from the Muslims pursued a man of them, andstruck him but missed him. He struck himself with the sword. TheApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Your brother, O groupof Muslims. The people hastened towards him, but found him dead.The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) wrapped him with hisclothes and his blood, and offered (funeral) prayer for him andburied him. They said: Apostle of Allah, is he a martyr? He said:Yes, and I am witness to him.
A Jewess presented a roasted sheep to the Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) at Khaybar. He then mentioned the rest of thetradition like that of Jabir (No. 4495). He said: Then Bashir ibnal-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari died. He sent someone to call onthe Jewess, and said to her (when she came): What motivated youto do the work you have done? He then mentioned the rest of thetradition similar to the one mentioned by Jabir (No. 4495). TheApostle of Allah (peace be upon him) then ordered regarding herand she was killed. But he (AbuSalamah) did not mention thematter of cupping.
Muhammad ibn Amr said on the authority of AbuSalamah, and he didnot mention the name of AbuHurayrah: The Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) used to accept presents but not alms (sadaqah). This version adds: So a Jewess presented him at Khaybar with aroasted sheep which she had poisoned. The Apostle of Allah (peacebe upon him) ate of it and the people also ate. He then said:Take away your hands (from the food), for it has informed me thatit is poisoned. Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari died. Sohe (the Prophet) sent for the Jewess (and said to her): Whatmotivated you to do the work you have done? She said: If youwere a prophet, it would not harm you; but if you were a king, Ishouldrid the people of you. The Apostle of Allah (peace beupon him) then ordered regarding her and she was killed. He thensaid about the pain of which he died: I continued to feel painfrom the morsel which I had eaten at Khaybar. This is the timewhen it has cut off my aorta.
Sulayman ibn Sakhr, also called Salamah ibn Sakhr al-Bayadi, made his wife like his mother's back to him till the end of Ramadan, but when only half the month had gone he had intercourse with her during the night and went to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and mentioned that to him. He told him to set free a slave, but he replied that he could not get one; so he told him to fast two consecutive months, but he replied that he was unable to do that; he then told him to feed sixty poor people, but he replied that he did not possess the means. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) then said to Farwah ibn Amr, "Give him that araq (i.e. a date-basket holding fifteen or sixteen sa's) in order that he may feed sixty poor people."
Tirmidhi transmitted it. AbuDawud, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted something similar on the authority of Sulayman ibn Yasar.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The believer is simple andgenerous, but the profligate is deceitful and ignoble.
A man from Aslam tribe said: I was sitting with the Apostle ofAllah (peace be upon him). A man from among his Companions cameand said: Apostle of Allah! I have been stung last night, and Icould not sleep till morning. He asked: What was that? Hereplied: A scorpion. He said: Oh, had you said in the evening: "Itake refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of whatHe created," nothing would have harmed you, Allah willing.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then you, Khuza'ah, havekilled this man of Hudhayl, but I will pay his blood-wit. Afterthese words of mine if a man of anyone is killed, his people willhave a choice to accept blood-wit or to kill him.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If a relative of anyone iskilled, or if he suffers khabl, which means a wound, he maychoose one of the three things: he may retaliate, or forgive, orreceive compensation. But if he wishes a fourth (i.e. somethingmore), hold his hands. After this whoever exceeds the limitsshall be in grave penalty.
AbuShurayh heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say, "If a relative of anyone is killed, or if he suffers khabal, which means a wound, he may choose one of three things, but if he wants anything more you must restrain him. He may retaliate, or forgive, or receive compensation; but if he accepts one of these and afterwards asks something more, he will go to Hell for ever and ever."
Darimi transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If anyone harms (others),Allah will harm him, and if anyone shows hostility to others,Allah will show hostility to him.
The Prophet said, "He who causes harm will be harmed by Allah and he who acts in a hostile manner will be treated in a hostile manner by Allah."
Ibn Majah and Tirmidhi transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a gharib tradition.
One day Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) came out with a shining face and said: Gabriel came to me and said: Verily your Lord says: Muhammad, does it not please you that if one amongst your Ummah invokes blessing upon you, I shall bless him ten times and if one amongst your Ummah sends greetings of peace to you, I shall send ten greetings of peace to him.

Anas quoted AbuTalhah as saying he told Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) he had bought wine for orphans who were in his charge, and he replied, "Pour out the wine and break the wine-jars."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, but declared it weak. In AbuDawud's version it says he asked the Prophet about orphans who had inherited wine and he said, "Pour it out." He asked if he might not make vinegar of it and he told him he must not.
When we complained to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) of hunger and raised our clothes to show we were each carrying a stone over the belly, Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) raised his clothes and showed that he had two stones on his belly.
Tirmidhi transmitted it saying this is a gharib tradition.
Anas quoted AbuTalhah as telling that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said to him, "Give your people a greeting, for they, so far as I know, are abstemious and show endurance."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
While We were sitting in front of the house and talking amongstourselves, Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) happened to comethere. He stood by us and said: What about you and your meetingson the path? Avoid these meetings on the paths. We said: We weresitting here without (any intention of doing harm to thepassers-by); we are sitting to discuss matters and to holdconversation amongst ourselves. Thereupon he said: If there is nohelp (for you but to sit on these paths), then give the pathstheir rights and these are lowering of the gaze, exchanging ofgreetings and good conversation.
AbuTha'labah swore by Allah that he had asked Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him and grant him peace) about the words of Allah Most High, "Care for yourselves; he who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly guided." He had replied, "No, enjoin one another to do what is reputable and forbid one another to do what is disreputable. But when you see niggardliness being obeyed, passion being followed, worldly interests being preferred, everyone being charmed with his own opinion, and you see something you are inclined to do, care for yourself and leave alone what people in general are doing; for ahead of you are days which will require endurance, in which he who shows endurance will be like him who grasps live coals. The one who acts rightly during that period will have the reward of fifty men who act as he does." The hearers said, "The reward of fifty of them, Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him)." He replied, "The reward of fifty of you."

Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: If you shoot with yourarrow and (the game) goes out of your sight and you find it(later on), then eat that if it has not gone rotten.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah , the Exalted, has laid down certain obligations which do not neglect, and has set certain limits which do not transgress, and has forbidden certain things which do not commit, and has kept silent about other things out of mercy for you and not out of forgetfulness. So do not seek to discover them.
Transmitted by Daraqutni. Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted something similar from Salman al-Farsi.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you shoot your arrow(and the animal goes out of your sight) and you come three dayslater on it, and in it there is your arrow, then eat provided ithas not stench.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me:AbuTha'labah, eat what returns to you by your bow and your dog. Ibn Harb's version adds: "The trained (dog), and your hand, theneat, whether it has been slaughtered or not slaughtered".
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said about the gamehunted by a dog: If you set off your dog and have mentionedAllah's name, eat (it), even if it eats any of it; and eat whatyour hands return you.
When the people encamped, (the narrator Amr ibn Uthman al-Himsi)said: When the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) encamped, thepeople scattered in the glens and wadis. The Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) said: Your scattering in these glens andwadis is only of the devil. They afterwards kept close togetherwhen they encamped to such an extent that it used to be said thatif a cloth were spread over them, it would cover them all.
AbuUmayyah ash-Sha'bani said: I asked AbuTha'labah al-Khushani:What is your opinion about the verse "Care for yourselves". Hesaid: I swear by Allah, I asked the one who was well informedabout it; I asked the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) aboutit. He said: No, enjoin one another to do what is good andforbid one another to do what is evil.But when you seeniggardliness being obeyed, passion being followed, worldlyinterests being preferred, everyone being charmed with hisopinion, then care for yourself, and leave alone what people ingeneral are doing; for ahead of you are days which will requireendurance, in which showing endurance will be like grasping livecoals. The one who acts rightly during that period will have thereward of fifty men who act as he does. Another version has: Hesaid (The hearers asked:) Apostle of Allah, the reward of fiftyof them? He replied: The reward of fifty of you.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah will not fail todetain this community for less than half a day.
AbuTha'labah said, "Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), we travel about and when we come to Jews, Christians and Magians we can obtain nothing but their vessels." He replied, "If you can obtain nothing else, wash them with water and then eat and drink out of them."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Those of you who will be dearest to me and nearest to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those with the best characters. Those of you who will be most hateful to me and farthest from me will be those with evil characters, who speak much, are loud-mouthed and talkative."
Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-Iman, and Tirmidhi transmitted something to the same effect on Jabir's authority.
I saw Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) circumambulating theHouse, and touching the corner with a stick that he had with him,and then kissing the stick.
Jarir reported: I said to AbuTufayl: Did you see Allah'sMessenger (peace be upon him)? He said: Yes, he had a whitehandsome face. Muslim ibn Hajjaj said: AbuTufayl who died in 100Hijrah was the last of the Companions of Allah's Messenger (peacebe upon him).
AbuUbaydah heard Allah's Messenger say, "Khalid is one of the swords of Allah, Who is Great and Glorious, and he is the fine warrior of the tribe."

I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: There has been noProphet after Noah who has not warned his people about theantichrist (Dajjal), and I warn you of him. The Apostle of Allah(peace be upon him) described him to us, saying: Perhaps some whohave seen me and heard my words will live till his time. Thepeople asked: Apostle of Allah! what will be the condition of ourhearts on that day? Like what we are today? He replied: Orbetter.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who does not join thewarlike expedition (jihad), or equip, or looks well after awarrior's family when he is away, will be smitten by Allah with asudden calamity. Yazid ibn Abdu Rabbihi said in his tradition:'before the Day of Resurrection".
A man said: Apostle of Allah, allow tourism for me. The Prophet(peace be upon him) said: The tourism of my people is striving inthe path of Allah, the Exalted.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Prayer followed by a prayerwith no idle talk between the two is recorded in Illiyyun.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If anyone goes outfrom his house after performing ablution for saying theprescribed prayer in congregation (in the mosque), his rewardwill be like that of one who goes for hajj pilgrimage afterwearing ihram (robe worn by the hajj pilgrims). And he who goesout to say the mid-morning (duha) prayer, and takes the troublefor this purpose, will take the reward like that of a person whoperforms umrah. And a prayer followed by a prayer with no worldlytalk during the gap between them will be recorded in Illiyyun.
AbuUmamah mentioned how the Messenger of Allah (peace be uponhim) performed ablution, saying that he used to wipe the cornersof his eyes, and he said that the ears are treated as part of thehead.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If anyone intercedes forhis brother and he presents a gift to him for it and he acceptsit, he approaches a great door of the doors of usury.
I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) Said: Allah ,Most Exalted, has appointed for everyone who has a right what isdue to him, and no will be made to an heir, and a woman shouldnot spend anything from her house except with the permission ofher husband. He was asked: Even foodgrain, Apostle of Allah? Hereplied: That is the best of our property. He then said: A loanmust be paid back, a she-camel lent for a time for milking mustbe returned, a debt must be discharged, one who stands surety isheld responsible.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If anyone loves for Allah'ssake, hates for Allah's sake, gives for Allah's sake andwithholds for Allah's sake, he will have perfect faith.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I guarantee a house in thesurroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even ifhe were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a manwho avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upperpart of Paradise for a man who made his character good.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Those who are nearest toAllah are they who are first to give a salutation.
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us leaningon a stick. We stood up to show respect to him. He said: Do notstand up as foreigners do for showing respect to one another.
A person asked Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him): What is faith? He said: When a good deed becomes a source of pleasure for you and an evil deed becomes a source of disgust for you, then you are a believer. He again said Allah's Messenger: What is a sin? Whereupon he said: When something pricks your conscience, give it up.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: No one who has once found the right way, ever goes astray except through dispute. Then Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) recited this verse: `They set it forth to thee only by way of disputation. Lo they are contentious people.' (43:58).

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Never did Gabriel come to me without commanding me to use miswak, with the result that I was afraid of chafing the front of my mouth.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Observe your five (daily) prayers, observe the fast during your month (Ramadan), pay zakat on your properties, and obey when you are commanded (by one who has the right to issue you a command); you will then enter the Paradise of the Lord.

It was asked: Allah's Messenger, which supplication is most readily answered? He said: The one in the middle of the later part of the night and at the end of obligatory prayers.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Verily Allah and His angels shower blessings on the first row. They said: Allah's Messenger, what about the second (row? He said: Allah and His angels shower blessings on the first row. They said: Allah's Messenger, what about the second one? Thereupon he said: Verily Allah and His angels shower blessings on the first row. They said: Allah's Messenger, what about the second one? And Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: On the second (also). Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Straighten your rows, stand shoulder to shoulder, stand close to the end of your brothers, and close up the intervening spaces for Satan penetrates what is between them as does a black kid meaning the young of the goat.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: There are three people whose prayer does not pass beyond their ears: the runaway slave till he returns; the woman who spends night in a state in which her husband is annoyed with her; and the leader of the people, whom (they do not like).
Tirmidhi transmitted it and said: This is a gharib hadith.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Make it a point to observe Tahajjud prayer, for it was the practice of the pious gone before you (and it is the means whereby you can find) nearness to your Lord and (seek) expiation for the sins and (find) prevention from evil.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) was asked: Which supplication is listened to (most readily) by Allah? He replied (one which is made in the) later part of the night, and at the end of the obligatory prayers.

I heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) saying: He who comes to his bed in a state of purity and then remembers Allah till drowsiness overtakes him, does not turn round at any time during the night and asks Allah at that time for some of the good of this world and that of the Hereafter, Allah will grant that to him.
Nawawi mentioned it in Kitab al-Adhkar by the transmission of Ibn as-Sunni.
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) observed two rak'ahs after Witr while seated and he used to recite in them: 'When the Earth has shaken.. (99) and, `Say: O nonbelievers.. (109).
Ahmad transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The best charity is providing the shade of a tent in the cause of Allah, or providing a servant for one who strives in the cause of Allah, or providing a young she-camel for one striving in the cause of Allah.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Allah does not listen to a servant of His engaged in anything more excellent than the two rak'ahs which he prays. Kindness is spread over the head of a servant as long as he is engaged in prayer; and men do not draw near to Allah with anything to be compared with what came forth from Him," meaning the Qur'an.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who observes the fast for a day in the cause of Allah will find that Allah has dug a moat between him and the Fire as wide as the distance between Heaven and Earth.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A learned person is as much above a worshipper as I am above the least of you. He added: Allah, His angels and all those in Heavens and on Earth, even the ants in their hills and the fish in the water, call down blessings on those who instruct people in beneficial knowledge.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) made many supplications which we were not able to retain in our memories. So we said to him: Messenger of Allah, you make many supplications of which we do not remember any. He said: Shall I tell you something which will encompass all of them? Supplicate: Allah, I beg of Thee all the good that Thy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) begged of Thee and seek Thy Protection against all the evil against which Thy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sought Thy protection. Thou art the One who is asked for help and it is for Thee to convey Thy guidance. There is no strength to resist evil nor power to do good except through Allah.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked: What supplication finds greatest acceptance? He answered: A prayer offered in the middle of the latter part of the night and after the prescribed Prayers.

We sat attentive to Allah's Messenger who gave us an exhortation and softened our hearts. Then Sa'd ibn AbuWaqqas wept copiously and said, "Would that I were dead!" Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Do you wish for death in my presence, Sa'd?" repeating it three times. He then said, "Sa'd, if you have been created for Paradise, it will be better for you if your life is prolonged and your deeds are good."
Ahmad transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that Allah, who is Blessed and Exalted, said "Son of Adam, if you show endurance and seek your reward from me in the first affliction, I shall be pleased with no lesser reward than Paradise for you."
Ibn Majah transmitted it.
AbuUmamah told of AbuDharr asking Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) to tell him what the reward for sadaqah would be, and receiving the reply, "Many times as much, and more still with Allah."
Ahmad transmitted it.
AbuUmamah heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say in the course of his sermon in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, "A woman must not give anything away from her husband's house without her husband's permission." He was asked whether she might not even give away food and replied, "That is the most excellent property we possess."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "If anyone fasts for a day while on Jihad, Allah will put between him and Hell a ditch as wide as the distance between Heaven and Earth."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "He who is not prevented from performing the pilgrimage by an obvious necessity, a tyrannical ruler, or a disease which confines him at home, and dies without having performed the pilgrimage, may die if he wishes as a Jew, or if he wishes as a Christian."
Darimi transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Do not sell, buy or teach singing-girls, and the price paid for them is unlawful. To similar effect has been sent down, 'Among men are those who purchase frivolous talk'."
Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying that this is a gharib tradition and that Ali ibn Yazid the transmitter is declared to be a weak traditionist.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say, "After fear of Allah a believer gains nothing better for himself than a good wife who obeys him if he gives her a command, pleases him if he looks at her, is true to him if he adjures her to do something, and is sincere towards him regarding her person and his property if he is absent."
Ibn Majah transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If any Muslim happens to look at a woman's beauties and then lowers his eyes, Allah will produce for him an act of worship whose sweetness he will experience."
Ahmad transmitted it.
AbuGhalib told that when AbuUmamah saw some heads set up on the road to Damascus he said, "The dogs of Hell, the worst people killed under the sky. The best who have been killed are those killed by them." He then recited, "On the day when some faces will be white and some faces will be black...." AbuUmamah was asked whether he had heard it from Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and replied, "If I had heard it only once, twice, or thrice (counting up to seven times) I should not have told you."
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a hasan tradition.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Allah has sent me as a mercy to the universe and as a guidance to the universe, and my Lord, Who is Great and Glorious, has commanded me to annihilate stringed instruments, wind instruments, idols, crosses and pre-Islamic customs. My Lord, Who is Great and Glorious has sworn, 'By My might, none of My servants will drink a mouthful of wine without My giving him a similar amount of pus to drink, but he will not abandon it through fear of Me without My giving him drink from the holy tanks.'"
Ahmad transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "No one will rule ten people or more without coming to Allah, Who is Great and Glorious, on the Day of Resurrection with his hand chained to his neck and being set free by his goodness, or brought to destruction by his sin. The beginning of it merits blame, its middle produces regret, and its end is disgrace on the Day of Resurrection."
Ahmad transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "The best sadaqat are the shade of a large tent in Allah's cause, the gift of a servant in Allah's cause, or providing in Allah's cause a she-camel old enough to be covered by a stallion."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Nothing is dearer to Allah than two drops and two marks: a teardrop shed from fear of Allah and a drop of blood shed in Allah's cause. Regarding the two marks, they are a mark received in Allah's cause and one caused by observing one of the ordinances of Allah Most High."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a hasan gharib tradition.
We went out with Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) on an expedition and when a man came upon a cave containing some water and vegetables he felt inclined to stay in it and withdraw from the world. So he asked Allah's Messenger's permission regarding that, but he replied, "I was not commissioned with Judaism, or Christianity, but with the easy Hanif religion. By Him in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is, a morning or an evening expedition in Allah's path is better than the world and what it contains, and for one of you to remain in the line of battle is better than his prayers for sixty years."

The Prophet said, "Allah has given me superiority over the prophets," or "has given my people superiority over other peoples and made spoils lawful to us."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade the sale of portions before they were divided.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "The perfect way for one of you to visit an invalid is for you to put your hand on his forehead or on his hand and ask him how he is; and the perfect way for you to greet one another is to shake hands."
Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, but Tirmidhi called it weak.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, Modesty and inability to speak are two branches of faith, but obscenity and eloquence are two branches of hypocrisy."

A man said, "Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) what rights can parents demand from their children?" He replied, "They are your Paradise and your Hell."
Ibn Majah transmitted it.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "If anyone strokes an orphan's head, doing so only for Allah's sake, he will have blessings for every hair over which his hand passes; and if anyone treats well an orphan girl or boy under his care, he and I shall be like these two in Paradise," putting two of his fingers together.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "No man loves another for Allah's sake without his Lord, Who is Great and Glorious, honouring him."

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Among those who will be in the worst station with respect to Allah on the Day of Resurrection, will be a man who has squandered his future life at the expense of someone else's worldly interests."
Ibn Majah transmitted it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The most enviable of my friends in my estimation is a believer with little property who finds pleasure in prayer, who performs the worship of his Lord well, who obeys Him in secret, who is obscure among men, who is not pointed out by people, and whose provision is a bare sufficiency with which he is content." He then snapped his fingers and said, "His death will come speedily, the women who bewail him will be few, and what he leaves will be little."

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, his Lord suggested turning the valley of Mecca into gold for him but he replied, "No, my Lord, but let me have enough to eat and be hungry on alternate days; then when I am hungry I shall make supplication to Thee and make mention of Thee, and when I have enough I shall praise and thank Thee."
Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it.
When one of the men in the Suffah died leaving a dinar, Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said it was a branding. When another died leaving two dinars, Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said they were two brandings.
Ahmad and Bayhaqi, in Shu'ab al-Iman, transmitted it.
AbuUmamah heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say, "May Lord has promised me to bring into Paradise seventy thousand of my people without any reckoning or punishment, each thousand accompanied by seventy thousand and three handfuls added by my Lord."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said about Allah's words, "He will be given to drink some liquid pus which he will gulp: It will come near his mouth and he will dislike it, then when it is brought near him it will scald his face and the skin of his head will fall away. Then when he drinks it, it will cut his entrails to pieces till it comes out at his posterior. Allah Most High says, "They will be given to drink a boiling liquid and it will cut their entrails to pieces." He also says, "And if they ask for help they will be helped with a liquid like molten copper which will scald their faces. How evil a drink it is!"

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Blessed is he who has seen me, but seven times blessed is he who has not seen me but has believed in me."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) observed: He whoappropriated the right of a Muslim by (swearing a false) oath,Allah would make Hell-fire necessary for him and would declareParadise forbidden for him. A person said to him: Messenger ofAllah, even if it is something insignificant? He (the Prophet)replied:(Yes) even if it is the twig of the arak tree.
AbuUmamah heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say: Recitethe Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as anintercessor for those who recite it. Recite the two bright ones,al-Baqarah and Surah al-Imran, for on the Day of Resurrectionthey will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks ofbirds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surahal-Baqarah, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to giveit up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it.(Mu'awiyah said: It has been conveyed to me that here Batalameans magicians.)
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: O son of Adam, it isbetter for you if you spend your surplus (wealth), but if youwithhold it, it is evil for you. There is (however) no reproachfor you (if you withhold means necessary) for a living. And begin(charity) with your dependants; and the upper hand is better thanthe lower hand.
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: He who wore silk inthis world would not wear it in the Hereafter.
We were sitting in the mosque in the company of Allah's Apostle(peace be upon him). Someone came in and said: Allah's Apostle, Ihave committed an offence which deserves the imposition of haddupon me, so impose it upon me. Allah's Apostle (peace be uponhim) kept silent. He repeated it and said: Allah's Apostle (peacebe upon him) I have committed an offence which deserves theimposition of hadd upon me, so impose it upon me. He (the HolyProphet) kept silent, and it was at this time that Iqamah waspronounced for prayer (and the prayer was observed). WhenAllah's Apostle (peace be upon him) had concluded the prayer, theperson followed Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him). AbuUmamahsaid: I too followed Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) after hehad concluded the prayer, so that I might know what answer hegave to that person. That person remained attached to Allah'sApostle (peace be upon him) and said: Allah's Apostle (peace beupon him), I have committed an offence which deserves impositionof hadd upon me, so impose it upon me.AbuUmamah reported thatAllah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said to him: Didn't you seethat when you left the house, you had performed ablutionperfectly well? He said: Allah's Apostle, of course I did. Heagain said to him: Then you observed prayer with us. He said:Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him), yes, it is so. ThereuponAllah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said to him: Verily, Allahhas exempted you from the imposition of hadd, or he said: Fromyour sin.
