وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ قَالَ كُنَّا نَأْتِي أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيَّ وَنَحْنُ غِلْمَةٌ أَيْفَاعٌ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ لَنَا لَا تُجَالِسُوا الْقُصَّاصَ غَيْرَ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَشَقِيقًا قَالَ وَكَانَ شَقِيقٌ هَذَا يَرَى رَأْيَ الْخَوَارِجِ وَلَيْسَ بِأَبِي وَائِلٍ.
It was narrated that 'Asim said: "We used to go to Abu 'Abdur-Rahman Al-Sulami when we were young boys, and he used to say to us: 'Do not sit with the storytellers except for Abu Al-Ahwas, and beware of Shaqiq.' And He said: 'This Shaqiq held some Khariji views, but he was not Abu Wa'il."'
