حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ: اكْتُبْ عَنْ بَقِيَّةَ مَا رَوَى عَنْ الْمَعْرُوفِينَ وَلَا تَكْتُبْ عَنْهُ مَا رَوَى عَنْ غَيْرِ الْمَعْرُوفِينَ وَلَا تَكْتُبْ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ مَا رَوَى عَنْ الْمَعْرُوفِينَ وَلَا عَنْ غَيْرِهِمْ.
Zakariyya bin 'Adiyy said: "Abu Ishaq AI-Fazari said to me: 'Write down from Baqiyyah whatever he narrates from those who are known, and do not write down what he narrates from those who are not known. And do not write down anything that Isma'il bin 'Ayyash narrated from those who are known nor those who are not known."'
