It was narrated from Nafi bin Jubair that Marwan bin Al-Hakam addressed the people, and he mentioned Makkah and its people and its sanctity, but he did not mention Al-Madinah and its people and its sanctity. Rafi bin Khadij called out to him and said: “Why do I hear you mention Makkah and its people and its sanctity, but you do not mention Al-Madinah and its people and its sanctity, when The Messenger Of Allah(SAW) declared what is between its two lava fields sacred? That is (recorded) with us on a piece of Khawlani leather, if you wish I will read it to you.” He said: “Marwan remained silent, then he said: “I heard some of that.””
