وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُسْلِمَ بْنَ يَنَّاقَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلاً يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ ، فَقَالَ: مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ ؟ فَانْتَسَبَ لَهُ ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ ، فَعَرَفَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأُذُنَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ ، يَقُولُ: مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ لاَ يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ إِلاَّ الْمَخِيلَةَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he saw a man letting his Izar drag, and he said: "Where are you from?" He told him which tribe he belonged to and he was from Banu Laith, and Ibn 'Umar recognized him. He said: "I heard with my own two ears the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: 'Whoever lets his garment drag with no intention but pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection."'
