It was narrated from Jabir bin Samurah that the people of Al-Kufah complained about Sa'd to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, and they complained about his prayer. 'Umar sent for him and he came. He told him how they had found fault with his prayer. He said: "I lead them in prayer according to the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and I do no more and no less than that. I make first two Rak'ah long, and I make the last two short." He said: "That is what I thought of you, Abu Ishaq."
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."
Sunan Ibn Mājah
"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
Sahih Bukhari
