It was narrated from Abu 'Awanah, from Qatadah, from Nasr bin 'Asim, from Malik bin Al-Huwairith, that when the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said the Takbir, he raised his hands until they were level with his ears. When he bowed, he raised his hands until they were level with his ears, and when he raised his head from bowing, he said: "Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him)," and did likewise.
