حَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَنْ يُرِيَهُمْ آيَةً فَأَرَاهُمُ انْشِقَاقَ الْقَمَرِ مَرَّتَيْنِ.
It was narrated from Anas that the people of Makkah asked the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) to show them a sign, and he showed them the splitting of the moon, twice.
