Sahih Muslim Book - 6, Hadith - 1613
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَابْنُ أَبِى زَائِدَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ. وَفِى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مُبَارَكٍ وَابْنِ أَبِى زَائِدَةَ ثُمَّ تَلاَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ (فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ) وَقَالَ فِى هَذَا نَزَلَتْ.
A similar report was narrated from 'Abdul-Malik with this chain. According to the Hadith of Ibn Mubarak and Ibn Abi Za'idah: "Then Ibn 'Umar recited: "So wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allah (and He is High above, over His Throne )" and he said: 'It was concerning this that it was revealed."'
