حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ وَوَكِيعٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِىَّ يَقُولُ قَرَأَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِى مَسِيرٍ لَهُ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَرَجَّعَ فِى قِرَاءَتِهِ. قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَوْلاَ أَنِّى أَخَافُ أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ عَلَىَّ النَّاسُ لَحَكَيْتُ لَكُمْ قِرَاءَتَهُ.
It was narrated that Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah said: "I heard 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal Al-Muzani say: 'During the Conquest, when he was riding to Makkah, the Prophet (s.a.w) recited Surat Al-Fath atop his mount, and he elongated his recitation."' Mu'awiyah said: "Were it not that I fear that the people would crowd upon me, I would have demonstrated his recitation to you."
