وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِىُّ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى - يَعْنِى ابْنَ حَسَّانَ - حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَلاَّمٍ - أَخْبَرَنِى يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنِى أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ جَابِرًا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِإِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الأُخْرَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَصَلَّى بِكُلِّ طَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ.
Jabir narrated that he prayed the fear prayer with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w). The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) led one of the two groups in praying two Rak'ah, then he led the other group in praying two Rak'ah, so the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) prayed four Rak'ah and each group prayed two.
