Remembering

Covenant with Allah by the Children of Israel, of the

2 : 63

Remember O Children of Israel when We took a covenant from youand when We lifted the Mount (Tur) over your heads saying: "Holdfirmly to what We have given you (Torah) and follow thecommandments therein, so that you may guard yourself againstevil."

Favours of Allah

2 : 231

When you divorce women and they have reached the end of theirwaiting period ('Iddat) either allow them to stay with honor orlet them go with kindness; but you should not retain them to harmthem or to take undue advantage; if anyone does that he wrongshis own soul. Do not take Allah's revelations as a joke. Rememberthe favors of Allah upon you and the fact that He sent down theBook and Wisdom for your guidance. Fear Allah and know that Allahhas knowledge of everything.

3 : 103

All together hold fast the rope of Allah (Faith of Islam) and benot divided among yourselves. Remember Allah's favors upon youwhen you were enemies; He united your hearts, so by His favor youbecame brethren; you were at the brink of the fiery pit and Hesaved you from it. Thus Allah makes His revelations clear to you,so that you may be rightly guided.

5 : 7

Remember Allah's favor to you and the covenant which He ratifiedwith you when you said: "We hear and we obey." Have fear ofAllah; surely Allah knows the secrets of your hearts.

5 : 11

O believers! Also remember Allah's favor which He recentlybestowed upon you when He restrained the hands of those whosought to harm you (Jewish plan to kill the Prophet and eminentcompanions through an invitation to a dinner which Allah informedhim not to attend). Have fear of Allah; and in Allah let thebelievers put their trust.

33 : 9

O believers! Remember the favor of Allah, which he bestowed onyou, when you were attacked by your enemy's army (during thebattle of Trench/Confederates) and We unleashed against themviolent winds and invisible forces. Allah saw all that you weredoing.

33 : 10

When the enemy attacked you from above and from below; when youreyes were petrified due to fear and your hearts leaped up to yourthroats, and you began to entertain all sorts of doubts aboutAllah,

33 : 11

there, the believers were put to test; and were shaken withtremendous shaking.

33 : 12

Remember, when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts there wasa disease were openly saying: "Allah and His Rasool promised usnothing but delusion!"

33 : 13

And a party of them said: "O people of Yathrib (Madinah)! Youcannot stand the attack much longer. Go back to your city". Andyet another party of them sought leave of the Prophet saying: "Infact our houses are insecure," whereas they were not insecure. They intended nothing but to run away from the battlefront.

33 : 14

Had the city been entered from all sides, and had they beenincited to sedition, they would have little hesitation to becomepartners in it.

35 : 3

O mankind! Call to mind the favors of Allah on you; is there anyother creator than Allah who provides for you from the heavensand the earth? There is no god but Him. How then are you beingdeceived?

Favours of Allah by the Children of Israel, of the

2 : 47

O' Children of Israel! Remember the special favor which Ibestowed upon You; that I exalted you above all other nations.

2 : 122

O Children of Israel! Remember the special favor which I bestowedupon you; that I exalted you above all other nations.

First Creation, the

56 : 62

You already know well your first creation, why then do you nottake heed?

Help of Allah in the Battle of the Trench, the

33 : 17

Ask them: "Who can protect you from Allah if He intends to harmyou or who can prevent Him if He intends to show you mercy?" Theywill find none besides Allah to protect or help them.

33 : 22

When the true believers saw the confederate forces they said:"This is what Allah and His Rasool had promised us: Allah and hisRasool were absolutely true." This increased them all the more intheir faith and their zeal in obedience.

33 : 25

Allah turned back the unbelievers; they retreated in their ragewithout gaining any advantage, and Allah was sufficient to fighton behalf of the believers; for Allah is All-Powerful,All-Mighty.

33 : 26

And brought down, from their fortresses, those people of the Book(The Jews of Bani Qurayzah) who supported the invaders, and castterror into their hearts. As a result, some of them you slew andsome you took as prisoners.

33 : 27

Thus He made you heirs of their lands, their houses and theirgoods, and also the land (Khayber) on which you had never setyour foot before. Truly, Allah has power over all things.

Preference shown to them by Allah, Children of Israel to remember the

2 : 122

O Children of Israel! Remember the special favor which I bestowedupon you; that I exalted you above all other nations.

Standing or sitting or reclining

3 : 190

For sure, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and thealternation of the night and the day there are signs for men ofunderstanding.

3 : 191

Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying ontheir sides, and meditate on the creation of the heavens and theearth. Then cry out:" Our Rabb! You have not created this invain. Glory to You! Save us from the punishment of Fire.

Remembrance

Admonition, keeping in of the

74 : 54

But no! Surely this Qur'an is an admonition.

74 : 55

Let him who wills take heed.

74 : 56

But none takes heed except by the will of Allah. He Alone isworthy to be feared and He Alone is worthy to forgive those whofear Him.

80 : 11

It should not be so! Indeed, this is but an admonition;

80 : 12

let him who wants, accept it.

Quran, engaging in that of the

57 : 14

They will call out the believers, saying: "Were we not on yourside?" "Yes," they will reply, "but you led yourselves intotemptation, you wavered, you doubted, and were deceived by yourvain desires until Allah's command came, while the arch-deceiver(shaitan) deceived you concerning Allah till the last moment."

Remembrance of Allah

Company of those engaging in

18 : 28

Keep yourself content with those who call on their Rabb morning and evening seeking His good pleasure; and let not your eyes turn away from them desiring the attraction of Worldly Life; nor obey the one whose heart We have permitted to neglect Our remembrance, who follows his own desires and goes to extremes in the conduct of his affairs.

Distraction from by worldly gain

24 : 37

by such people whom neither business nor business profit candivert from the remembrance of Allah, nor from establishing Salahand nor from paying Zakah, for they fear the Day of Judgementwhen hearts will be overturned and eyes will be petrified,

24 : 38

who hope that Allah will reward them according to the best oftheir deeds and add for them even more out of His grace: forAllah gives without measure to whom He pleases.

63 : 9

O believers! Let neither your riches nor your children divert youfrom the remembrance of Allah. Those who will do so, it is theywho shall be the real losers.

Engaging in

57 : 16

Has not the time arrived for the believers to submit with ferventhearts to Allah's warning and to the truth He has revealed, sothat they may not become like those who were given the Bookbefore this, even though their term was prolonged for them buttheir hearts became hardened? Today most among them aretransgressors.

Forgetting

58 : 19

62 : 10

When you finish the Salah, then disperse through the land andseek the bounty of Allah (go back to your normal business).Remember Allah frequently, so that you may prosper.

62 : 11

Those who are still weak in Iman (faith), when they see somebargain or some sport they rush to it and leave you standing. OProphet declare to them that what Allah has in store for them isfar better than any sport and bargain, and Allah is the bestprovider.

Indifference to

43 : 36

He who turns away from the remembrance (Reminder) of theCompassionate (Allah), We assign a shaitan for him, who becomeshis intimate companion.

43 : 37

- and turns such people away from the Right Path, while theythink that they are guided aright.

43 : 38

- Ultimately, when that person will come to Us on the Day ofJudgement, he will say to his shaitan companion: "I wish that Iwas far apart from you as the east is from the west: you turnedout to be an evil companion."

43 : 39

Then it will be said to them: "Well, you have already done wrong, realizing this fact today will avail you nothing, as you both arepartners in the same punishment.

Satisfaction in

13 : 28

- such are the ones who have believed and whose hearts findsatisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. Beware! It is theremembrance of Allah which provides tranquility to the hearts.

Turning away from

72 : 17

and thereby put them to test. He that gives no heed to thewarnings of his Rabb, shall be made to undergo severe punishment.

Quran as

11 : 120

All these stories of the prior Rasools that We relate to you (OMuhammad) are to strengthen your heart therewith; through theseyou have received the knowledge of reality and the believers havegotten admonition and a reminder.

20 : 2

We have not sent down this Qur'an to put you in trouble,

20 : 3

but as a reminder to those who fear Allah.

29 : 51

Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you this Book(AL-Qur'an) which is recited to them, surely in it is a blessingand a reminder for those who believe.

43 : 44

In fact this Qur'an is a reminder for you and your people; andyou shall soon be questioned about it.

50 : 45

We know very well what these unbelievers say. You (O Muhammad)are not there to compel them to believe. So admonish with thisQur'an every such person who fears My warning.

Torah as

40 : 53

As you can see We gave Musa the Book of guidance and We made thechildren of Israel to inherit that Book,

40 : 54

They have been turning their backs on each fresh warning thatcomes to them from the Compassionate (Allah).

Reminding

Wrong-doers, the

6 : 69

Though righteous people will not be held responsible forwrongdoers' actions, yet it is their duty to admonish them;perhaps they may refrain from evil deeds.

6 : 70

Leave those people alone, who take their religion as mere playand amusement and are deceived by the life of this world. However, keep on admonishing them with this (The Qur'an), lesttheir souls be damned by their own sinful deeds. They will nothave any protector or intercessor to rescue them from Allah, andif they seek to offer every imaginable ransom, it shall not beaccepted from them. Ask them: "Bring the Taurat (Torah) and read apassage from it in support of your objection, if what you say istrue."

Remuneration

Wealth and property of orphans for their guardianship, from from the

4 : 6

Observe the orphans through testing their abilities until theyreach the age of marriage, then if you find them capable of soundjudgment, hand over to them their property; and do not consume itwastefully in haste lest they grow up to demand it. Evil with good

26 : 96

Wherein they will argue with one another

28 : 54

They are the ones who will be given their reward twice, becausethey have endured with fortitude, repelling evil with good andgiving in charity out of what We have given them.

41 : 34

Good deeds are not equal to the evil ones. Repel other's evildeeds with your good deeds. You will see that he with whom youhad enmity, will become your close friend.

41 : 35

But none will attain this quality except those who patientlyendure and none will attain this quality except those who aretruly fortunate.

41 : 36

If any time you are tempted by Shaitan, seek refuge with Allah. It is He Who hears all and knows all.

Orphan, the

107 : 1

and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

It is He Who accepts repentance from His servants and pardonstheir sins, and He knows whatever you do.

Dhun-Nun, example of that of

21 : 87

We blessed Zun-nun (Yunus / Jonah), when he departed in anger, thinking We would not take him to task for this, but later heprayed to Us from the depths of darkness, "There is no god butYou, glory be to You! Indeed I was the one who committed wrong."

21 : 88

We accepted his prayer and delivered him from distress; thus doWe deliver the believers.

Disbelieving after accepting the Faith, for

3 : 86

How it can be that Allah would guide those people who commit Kufr(reject faith) after their Iman (acceptance of faith),acknowledge that the Rasool is true, and clear proofs have cometo them? Allah does not guide such wrongdoers.

3 : 87

The reward of such people is that upon them is the curse ofAllah, the angels and all mankind.

3 : 88

They shall remain under it for ever; neither will theirpunishment be lightened nor will they be given respite.

3 : 89

However, those who repent after this and mend their ways, thenverily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Evil at the time of death, for

4 : 18

There is no repentance for those who persist in their evil deedsuntil death approaches anyone of them and he says: "surely now Irepent." Similarly, there is no repentance for those who diewhile they were still unbelievers; for them We have prepared apainful punishment.

Hiding the Guidance, for

2 : 159

Those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance, after Wehave made it clear in the Book for mankind, will have Allah'scurse and that of those who are entitled to curse;

2 : 160

except those who repent, reform and let the truth be known; I'llaccept their repentance, for I am the Receiver of Repentance, theMerciful.

Hiding the Proof, for

2 : 159

Those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance, after Wehave made it clear in the Book for mankind, will have Allah'scurse and that of those who are entitled to curse;

2 : 160

except those who repent, reform and let the truth be known; I'llaccept their repentance, for I am the Receiver of Repentance, theMerciful.

Hiding the Quran, for

2 : 159

Those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance, after Wehave made it clear in the Book for mankind, will have Allah'scurse and that of those who are entitled to curse;

2 : 160

except those who repent, reform and let the truth be known; I'llaccept their repentance, for I am the Receiver of Repentance, theMerciful.

Hiding the Revelations, for

2 : 159

Those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance, after Wehave made it clear in the Book for mankind, will have Allah'scurse and that of those who are entitled to curse;

except those who repent, reform and let the truth be known; I'llaccept their repentance, for I am the Receiver of Repentance, theMerciful.

Hiding the Truth, for

2 : 159

Those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance, after Wehave made it clear in the Book for mankind, will have Allah'scurse and that of those who are entitled to curse;

2 : 160

except those who repent, reform and let the truth be known; I'llaccept their repentance, for I am the Receiver of Repentance, theMerciful.

Hypocrites, by

4 : 146

However, those who repent and mend their ways, hold fast toAllah, and become sincere in their devotion to Allah - they areconsidered to be with the believers. Allah will soon grant thebelievers a mighty reward.

9 : 74

They swear by Allah that they said nothing when in fact theyuttered the words of unbelief and they committed Kufr afteraccepting Islam. They meditated a plot which they were unable tocarry out. They had no reason to be revengeful, except that Allahand His Rasool had enriched them through His bounty. Therefore,if they repent it will indeed be better for them; but if theyturn back (do not repent) Allah will punish them with a painfulpunishment in this life and in the Hereafter, and they shall havenone on earth to protect or help them.

Intrigues, for involving Muhammad(S) in

66 : 3

When the Prophet confined a secret to one of his wives, shedisclosed this secret to another and Allah informed him about it,the Prophet made known to the said wife a part of it and avoidedmentioning the rest. So when he told her about this disclosure, she asked: "Who told you this?" He replied: "I was informed byHim Who is All-Knowing, All-Aware."

Mushrikeen, by

9 : 5

When the forbidden months (10,11,12 & 1 of the Islamic calendar) are over, then fight the mushrikïn wherever you find them, seize them, besiege them, and lie in ambush for them in every stratagem of war, but if they repent, establish Salah and pay Zakah, then let them go their way: surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

9 : 11

However, if they repent, establish Salah and pay Zakah, then theyshall be your brethren in Deen (faith and way of life based onDivine guidance): thus do We spell out Our revelations for peopleof understanding.

Persecuting Believers, for

85 : 10

Those who persecute the believing men and believing women and donot repent, shall receive the punishment of hell, wherein theyshall have the punishment of conflagration.

Time, in

18 : 58

Your Rabb is Most Forgiving, the Lord of Mercy. Had it been His Will to seize them for their sins, He would have hastened their punishment, but for that there is an appointed time, after which they will not find any refuge.

18 : 59

All those nations whom We destroyed for their wrong doings were given respite and an appointed time for their destruction.

Turning to Allah in

9 : 112

Those that turn to Allah in repentance, serve Him, praise Him,move about in the land for His sake, make Rakuh (bow down inprayer) and Sajud (prostrate themselves in prayer), enjoin whatis good and forbid what is evil, and observe the limits(permissions and prohibitions) set by Allah (they are the oneswho make such a bargain with Allah). O Prophet, proclaim the goodnews to such believers.

9 : 126

Do they not see that they are tested every year once or twice?Yet they neither repent nor learn a lesson from this.

11 : 3

You should seek forgiveness of your Rabb and turn to Him inrepentance; He will grant you good provisions till an appointedterm, and bestow His grace on everyone who has merit! But if youturn away (pay no heed), I fear for you the punishment of a GreatDay.

17 : 25

Your Rabb knows best what is in your hearts. If you do gooddeeds, certainly He is most forgiving to those who turn to Him inrepentance.

34 : 9

Do they not see the sky and the earth that surrounds them fromfront and from behind? If We want, We can cave in the earth toswallow them up or let the fragments of the sky fall upon them.Surely there is a sign in this for every devotee that turns toAllah in repentance.

39 : 17

As for those who refrain from worshipping Taghut (Satanic forces)and turn to Allah in repentance, there is good news. So OProphet, give good news to My servants

46 : 15

We have enjoined man to treat his parents with kindness. Withmuch trouble his mother bore him, and much pain did she give himbirth. His bearing and his weaning took thirty months. When hereaches the age of full strength and becomes forty years old, hesays: "My Rabb! Grant me the grace that I may thank you for thefavors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and thatI may do good deeds that will please You, and grant me goodchildren. Surely I turn to You in repentance and surely I am ofthose who are Muslims."

46 : 16

Such are the people from whom We shall accept the best of theirdeeds and overlook their misdeeds. They shall be among theresidents of paradise: true is the promise that has been made tothem in this life.

66 : 8

O believers! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance. It may well bethat your Rabb will remove from you your sins and admit you togardens beneath which rivers flow. On that Day Allah will nothumiliate the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their lightwill shine in front of them and on their right, and they willsay: "Our Rabb! Perfect our light for us and grant usforgiveness, for You have power over all things."

Usury, for

2 : 279

or war shall be declared against you by Allah and His Rasool. Ifyou repent, you may retain your principal, causing no loss todebtor and suffering no loss.

Wives, by

66 : 5

It may well be that, if he divorce you all, his Rabb will givehim in your place better wives than yourselves, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, worshippers and keepers of fasting;be they previously married or virgins.

Wronging one's soul, for

4 : 110

If anyone does evil or wrongs his own soul and then seeks Allah'sforgiveness, he will find Allah Forgiving, Merciful.

Repetition

Creation, of

21 : 104

On that Day We shall roll up the heavens like a scroll ofwritings; just as We originated the first creation, so shall Weproduce it again - that is Our promise, and We will fulfill it.

29 : 19

Do they not see how Allah originates creation then repeats itsprocess? Surely it is easy for Allah.

29 : 20

Say to them: "Travel through the earth and see how Allahoriginates the creation, then creates the later creation. SurelyAllah has power over everything.

Sins, of

17 : 8

Now your Rabb may again be merciful to you; but if you repeat thesame behavior, We will repeat the punishment, and in thehereafter, We have made hell a prison for such unbelievers.

Report

Harming people unknowingly owing to a false

49 : 6

O believers, if an evildoer comes to you with some news, verifyit (investigate to ascertain the truth), lest you should harmothers unwittingly and then regret what you have done.

Reprieve

None after death

63 : 10

Spend, in charity and in the Cause of Allah, out of thesustenance which We have bestowed on you before that time whendeath will come to anyone of you, and he shall say: "O my Rabb!If only you would reprieve me for a little while then I wouldgive out everything in charity, and be among the righteous."

63 : 11

But Allah reprieves no soul when its term comes to an end. Allahis well aware of all your actions.

Reproach

Fearing that of fault-finders

5 : 54

O believers! Whoever among you renounce Islam let him do so; soonAllah will replace them with others whom He will love and theywill love Him, who will be humble towards the believers, mightyagainst the unbelievers, striving hard in the way of Allah, andwill have no fear of reproach from any critic. Now this is thegrace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. Allah hasboundless knowledge.

Reputing The Truth

Reputing The Truth

40 : 5
