Sahih Muslim Book - 16, Hadith - 3525

وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زِيَادَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ثَابِتًا الأَعْرَجَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُمْنَعُهَا مَنْ يَأْتِيهَا وَيُدْعَى إِلَيْهَا مَنْ يَأْبَاهَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ».

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "The worst of food is the food of a feast from which those who come to it are turned away and those who refuse to come are invited to it. Whoever does not accept an invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."
