Sahih Muslim Book - 17, Hadith - 3643
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ أَبِى عُمَرَ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِى الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ خُلِقَتْ مِنْ ضِلَعٍ لَنْ تَسْتَقِيمَ لَكَ عَلَى طَرِيقَةٍ فَإِنِ اسْتَمْتَعْتَ بِهَا اسْتَمْتَعْتَ بِهَا وَبِهَا عِوَجٌ وَإِنْ ذَهَبْتَ تُقِيمُهَا كَسَرْتَهَا وَكَسْرُهَا طَلاَقُهَا ».
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Woman was created from a rib, it will never become straight for you in any way. If you wish to benefit from her then you may benefit from her, along with her crookedness, but if you try to straighten her you will break her, and breaking her is divorcing her."'
