حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِى خَلَفٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِى أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِقَتْلِ الْكِلاَبِ حَتَّى إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ تَقْدَمُ مِنَ الْبَادِيَةِ بِكَلْبِهَا فَنَقْتُلُهُ ثُمَّ نَهَى النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَنْ قَتْلِهَا وَقَالَ « عَلَيْكُمْ بِالأَسْوَدِ الْبَهِيمِ ذِى النُّقْطَتَيْنِ فَإِنَّهُ شَيْطَانٌ ».
Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) ordered us to kill dogs, and even if a woman came from the desert with her dog, we would kill it. Then the Prophet (s.a.w) forbade killing them, and said: 'You should kill the dark black (dog) with two (white) spots (above its eyes), for it is a devil."'
