Sahih Muslim Book - 24, Hadith - 4196

وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِى الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَمْسِكُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ وَلاَ تُفْسِدُوهَا فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَعْمَرَ عُمْرَى فَهِىَ لِلَّذِى أُعْمِرَهَا حَيًّا وَمَيِّتًا وَلِعَقِبِهِ ».

It was narrated that Jabir said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Keep your wealth and do not squander it, for whoever gives a gift for life, it belongs to the one to whom it was given, during his lifetime and after his death, and to his children."'
