It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim who testifies that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, except in one of three cases: A married (or previously married) adulterer, a life for a life, or one who forsakes his religion leaving the Jama'ah (the congregation of Muslims)."
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
