حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنِى عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ فَقَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- لَيْلَةً مِنَ الْفِرَاشِ فَالْتَمَسْتُهُ فَوَقَعَتْ يَدِى عَلَى بَطْنِ قَدَمَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِى الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُمَا مَنْصُوبَتَانِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ « اللَّهُمَّ أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لاَ أُحْصِى ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ ».
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that 'Aishah said: "I noticed that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) was not in the bed one night, so I searched for him, and my hand fell on the sole of his foot. He was in the Masjid, with his feet held upright, and he was saying: 'Allahumma! Inni a'udhu biridaka min sakhatika wa bimu 'afatika min 'uqubatika, wa a'udhu bika minka, Ia ushi thana'an 'alayka, anta kama athnaita 'ala nafsik (O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough; You are as You have praised Yourself.)"'
