It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) supplicated against those who had killed the people of Bi'r Ma'unah every morning for thirty days. He supplicated against Ri'l, Dhakwan, Lihyan and 'Usayyah who had disobeyed Allah and His Messenger." Anas said: "Allah the Most High revealed about those who had been killed at Bi'r Ma'unah and we recited it until it was subsequently abrogated. It said: 'Convey to our people that we have met our Lord and He is pleased with us and we are pleased with Him."'
