ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا
On th ur kayfa d araboo laka alamth a la fa d alloo fal a yasta t eeAAoona sabeel a n
See to what they liken thee, [O Prophet, simply] because they have gone astray and are now unable to find a way [to the truth]!
  - Mohammad Asad
See what sort of examples they make up about you! They have surely gone astray and cannot find the Right Way.
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
See how they call you names 'O Prophet'!1 So they have gone so 'far' astray that they cannot find the 'Right' Way.
  - Mustafa Khattab

They rejected you as a magician, a poet, a fabricator, and madman.

See what similitudes they coin for thee, and thus are all astray, and cannot find a road!
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
See what similes thy strike for thee; but they have gone astray and never can they find a way. 2233
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Note that the word used is "Sabilan" "a way", not "the way". In going astray they have lost the way; but never can they find any means of getting back to that way, or of justifying themselves or making good their wicked similes.
