وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ Qur’an As-Saffat (37:137)
Wainnakum latamurroona AAalayhim mu s bi h een a
and, verily, [tO this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings53 at morning-time
  - Mohammad Asad
Mohammad Asad

Lit., "you pass by them", i.e., by the places where they lived (see 15:76 and the corresponding note [55]).

Surely you pass by their ruins by day
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
You 'Meccans' certainly pass by their ruins day
  - Mustafa Khattab
Mustafa Khattab
And Lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
Marmaduke Pickthall
Verily ye pass by their (sites) by day 4118
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Cf. xv. 76, and n. 1998. The tract where they lay is situated on the highway to Syria where the Arab caravans travelled regularly, "by day and by night". Could not future generations learn wisdom from the destruction of those who did wrong?
