Tell them, "Bad and good are not equal, even though the abundanceof the bad may dazzle you; so fear Allah, O people ofunderstanding, that you may prosper!"
O Muhammad, many a time We noticed you turning your face towardsheaven; now We will make you turn towards a Qiblah that willplease you. Turn your face during Salah towards the Sacred Mosque(Ka'bah); wherever you are turn your face in that direction. Thepeople of the Book know this to be the truth from their Rabb.Allah is not unaware of what they do.
From whatever place you come forth, turn your face during Salahtowards the Sacred Mosque; this is in fact a commandment fromyour Rabb. Allah is not unaware of what you do.
Again, whatever place you come forth, turn your face during Salahtowards the Sacred Mosque; and wherever you are, face towards it,so that people will not have any argument against you, exceptthose among them who are wrongdoers. Do not fear them; fear Me,so that I may perfect My favors to you and that you may berightly guided,
Remember when We made the House (the Ka'bah) a center andsanctuary for mankind saying, "Take the station of Ibrahim as aplace of prayer;" We entrusted Ibrahim and Isma`il to cleanse OurHouse for those who walk around it, who meditate in it, and whokneel and prostrate in prayers.

O Muhammad, surely We have granted you the Kauthar (countlessblessings - it is also the name of a special fountain which willbe granted to Prophet Muhammad on the Day of Judgement ).
Allah knows what really is in their hearts; therefore, neglecttheir attitude, admonish them, and speak to them effectual wordswhich may go deep into their hearts.
They will say: "We are at your service!" Yet when they leave you, some of them meet together secretly at night to plot against whatyou have said. Allah notes down all their plots. Therefore, leavethem alone and put your trust in Allah. Allah is your allsufficient trustee.
Those who keep their trusts and honor their promises,
and it will be said: "Here is what you were promised. It is forevery penitent faithful person,
who feared the Compassionate (Allah) without seeing Him and comebefore Him with a devoted heart."
Allah will say: "Enter it in peace; this is the Day of EternalLife!"
There they shall have all that they wish, and We shall have yetmore to give.
Pronouncement of revocable divorce is only allowed twice: thenshe should be allowed to stay with honor or let go with kindnessafter the third pronouncement. It is not lawful for husbands totake anything back which they have given them except when bothparties fear that they may not be able to follow the limits setby Allah; then if you fear that they both will not be able tokeep the limits of Allah, there is no blame if, by mutualagreement the wife compensates the husband to obtain divorce. These are the limits set by Allah; do not transgress them, andthose who transgress the limits of Allah are the wrongdoers.
So if a husband divorces his wife three times, it is not lawfulfor him to remarry her until after she has married another manand gotten divorced. In that case there is no blame on either ofthem if they reunite in marriage, provided they think that theycan keep the limits of Allah. Such are the limits of Allah whichHe makes clear to the people of understanding.
Those that turn to Allah in repentance, serve Him, praise Him,move about in the land for His sake, make Rakuh (bow down inprayer) and Sajud (prostrate themselves in prayer), enjoin whatis good and forbid what is evil, and observe the limits(permissions and prohibitions) set by Allah (they are the oneswho make such a bargain with Allah). O Prophet, proclaim the goodnews to such believers.
Therefore, stand firm on the Right Way as you are commanded, together with those who have turned from unbelief to belief inAllah, and do not transgress; surely, He is watching all that youdo.
Those who keep their trusts and honor their promises,
It is not befitting for a believer to kill a believer except byaccident, and whoever accidently kills a believer, he iscommanded to free a believing slave and pay bloodwit to thefamily of the victim, unless they forgo it as a charity. If thevictim is from a hostile nation, then the freeing of a believingslave is enough, but if he belonged to a nation with whom youhave a treaty, then bloodwit must be paid to his family alongwith the freeing of a believing slave. Those who do not have themeans (bloodwit and or a slave) must fast two consecutive months:a method of repentance provided by Allah. Allah is theKnowledgeable, Wise.
Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell tolive therein forever. He shall incur the wrath of Allah, Who willlay His curse on him and prepare for him a woeful punishment.
You shall not kill your children for fear of want, for it is WeWho provide sustenance for them as well as for you; surelykilling them is a great blunder.
Ask them to think carefully and answer: "When you face a disasteror the last Hour approaches you, do you call for help anyoneother than Allah? Answer me if you are truthful!"
You shall not kill your children for fear of want, for it is WeWho provide sustenance for them as well as for you; surelykilling them is a great blunder.
O Muhammad, say: "Come, I will recite what your Rabb hasforbidden to you: not to commit shirk with Him, to be kind toyour parents, not to kill your children making the excuse ofinability to support them - We provide sustenance for you and forthem - not to commit shameful deeds whether open or secret, notto kill any soul forbidden by Allah except for the requirementsof justice. These are the things which He enjoined you so thatyou may learn wisdom.
Their real wish is to see that you become a disbeliever, as theythemselves have disbelieved, so that you may become exactly likethem. So you should not take friends from their ranks unless theyimmigrate in the way of Allah; and if they do not, seize them andkill them wherever you find them, and do not take any of them asprotectors or helpers.
The exception to this is for those who take refuge with yourallies or come over to you because their hearts restrain themboth from fighting against you and from fighting against theirown people. If Allah had wanted, He would have given them powerover you and they might easily have fought against you;therefore, if they withdraw from you and cease their hostilityand offer you peace, in that case Allah has not granted youpermission to fight against them.
You will find other hypocrites who wish to be safe from you aswell as from their own people; but who would plunge into mischiefwhenever they get an opportunity. Therefore if they do not keepdistance from you and neither offer you peace, nor cease theirhostilities against you, you may seize them and kill themwherever you find them, against such people We give you absoluteauthority.
Serve Allah and do not commit shirk (associate any partner) withHim, and be good to your parents, kinfolks, orphans, thehelpless, near and far neighbors who keep company with you, thetravellers in need, and the slaves you own. Allah does not lovethose who are arrogant and boastful,
Let those women, during their waiting period ('Iddat), live whereyou yourselves live according to your means. You shall not harassthem so as to make life intolerable for them. If they arepregnant, maintain them until their delivery: and if, after that, they suckle your offspring, compensate them and settle the matterof compensation with mutual consultation and in all fairness. Butif you cannot bear with each other then let another woman sucklethe baby for you.
Let the rich man give according to his means, and the poor mangive according to what Allah has given him. Allah does not chargea man with more than He has given him; soon Allah may bring easeafter hardship.
And if you divorce them before the marriage is consummated butafter the fixation of a dowry, give them half of their dowryunless the woman wants to waive it or the man in whose hand isthe marriage tie is generous enough (to pay the dowry in full). It is more appropriate that the man should act generously. Do notforget to show kindness to each other. Surely Allah observes youractions.
There is no virtue in most of the secret counsels of the people;it is, however, good if one secretly enjoins charity, kindness, and reconciliation among people; the one who does this to pleaseAllah, will soon be given a mighty reward.
Show forgiveness, speak for justice and avoid the ignorant.
Serve Allah and do not commit shirk (associate any partner) withHim, and be good to your parents, kinfolks, orphans, thehelpless, near and far neighbors who keep company with you, thetravellers in need, and the slaves you own. Allah does not lovethose who are arrogant and boastful,
The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves andhis wives are as their mothers. Blood relatives have a greaterclaim on one another than the other believers and the Muhajirin(early Muslims who migrated from Makkah to Madinah) according tothe Book of Allah: although you are permitted to some good(through leaving bequests) for your friends . This has beenwritten in the Book of Allah.
Remember, We took a covenant (firm commitment) from the childrenof Israel: "You shall worship none but Allah; be good to yourparents, relatives, orphans and destitute, speak fair to thepeople, establish 'Salah', and pay 'Zakah.'" But you broke thecovenant, except a few of you, and you paid no heed.

Such a blessing is the good news which Allah gives to Hisservants who believe and do good deeds. O Prophet, say to them:"I do not ask you any recompense except your love for being myclose relatives." He that does a good deed shall be repaid manytimes over. Surely Allah is oft-Forgiving, most Appreciative.
If the relatives, orphans or needy are present at the time of thedivision of an inheritance, give them something out of it, andspeak to them kind words.
Let those (disposing of an estate) have the same fear in theirminds as they would have for their own if they were to leave ahelpless family behind: they should, therefore, fear Allah andspeak for justice.
and lower your wing of kindness to those of the believers whofollow you,

You shall speak courteously to needy persons if you are waitingfor your Rabb's bounty and you lack the means to assist them.

Allah does not forbid you to be kind and equitable to those whohad neither fought against your faith nor driven you out of yourhomes. In fact Allah loves the equitable.

Your Rabb has decreed to you that: You shall worship none butHim, and you shall be kind to your parents; if one or both ofthem live to their old age in your lifetime, you shall not say tothem any word of contempt nor repel them and you shall addressthem in kind words.
We have enjoined man to show kindness to his parents; but if they(your parents) force you to commit shirk with Me, of which youhave no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return and Iwill inform you of what you have done.
We have enjoined man concerning his parents - his mother carrieshim in her womb while suffering weakness upon weakness and thenweans him for two years - That's why We commanded him: "Givethanks to Me and to your parents, and keep in mind that, to Me isyour final goal.
If they argue with you to commit shirk, of which you have noknowledge, then do not obey them; however you should still treatthem kindly in this world, but follow the way of that individualwho has turned to Me. After all, to Me is your return; then Iwill inform you about the reality of all that you have done."
Your Rabb has decreed to you that: You shall worship none butHim, and you shall be kind to your parents; if one or both ofthem live to their old age in your lifetime, you shall not say tothem any word of contempt nor repel them and you shall addressthem in kind words.

So woe to those who offer Salah (prayers),
but are neglectful of their Salah (offer Prayers but disregardthe very purpose of establishing Salah - to have the fear ofAllah and be mindful to the needs of other people);
those who make a show of piety
and refuse to share the necessities of life.
Tell My servants that they should speak only what is the best.Surely shaitan stirs up trouble among them. The fact is thatshaitan is an open enemy to mankind.

O believers! It is not lawful for you consider women as a part ofyour inheritance and retain them against their will in order thatyou may force them to give up a part of the dowry you have giventhem, unless they are guilty of proven fornication. Treat themwith kindness even if you dislike them; it is quite possible thatyou dislike something in which Allah has placed much good.
Righteousness is not whether you turn your face towards East orWest; but the righteousness is to believe in Allah, the Last Day,the Angels, the Books and the Prophets, and to spend wealth outof love for Him on relatives, orphans, helpless, needytravellers, those who ask for and on the redemption of captives;and to establish Salah (prayers), to pay Zakah (alms), to fulfillpromises when made, to be steadfast in distress, in adversity, and at the time of war. These people are the truthful and theseare the pious.
O believers, give what is due to your relatives, the needy andthe traveller in need. That is best for those who seek thepleasure of Allah and it is they who will attain felicity.

Allah commands doing justice, doing good to others, and giving tonear relatives, and He forbids indecency, wickedness, andrebellion: He admonishes you so that you may take heed.

You shall give to your relatives their due and to the needy andto the wayfarers. You shall not be a spendthrift
They ask you what they should spend in charity. Say: "Whateveryou spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good youdo, Allah is aware of it.

Let not those among you who are endowed with grace and amplitudeof means swear to withhold their help from their relatives, theindigent and those who left their homes for the cause of Allah -rather let them forgive and overlook - do you not wish that Allahshould forgive you? Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Do you not know that Allah is aware of all that is in heaven andthe earth? Certainly all of this is recorded in a Book and it isvery easy for Allah to do so.
People ask you about the Hour of Doom. Tell them: "Allah Alonehas the knowledge of it. Who knows? It may be that the Hour isnear at hand."
They ask: "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you sayis true?"
Tell them: "Allah Alone has the knowledge of that; my mission isonly to warn you plainly."
But, when they shall see it close at hand, the faces of thedisbelievers will turn black with gloom, and it will be said tothem: "This is which you were calling for."
Allah knows what every female bears in her womb. He is fullyaware of what decrease or increase (miscarriage or a long wait)takes place in the womb. Everything has a due measure with Him.
He has perfect knowledge of both the visible and the invisible. He is the Great, the Most High.
It is the same to Him whether any of you speak in secret oraloud, whether anyone hides under the darkness of night or walksabout in broad daylight.
Each person has been assigned guardian angels before him andbehind him, who watch him by the command of Allah. The fact isthat Allah never changes the condition of a people until theyintend to change it themselves. If Allah wants to afflict apeople with misfortune, none can ward it off, nor they can findany protector besides Him.
Whether you reveal anything or conceal it, surely Allah has fullknowledge of all things.
The One to Whom you need not speak aloud; for He knows what issaid in secret and what is yet more hidden.
Say: No one in the heavens or in the earth has the knowledge ofthe unseen except Allah and their gods do not know when theyshall be raised to life again.
Had We so pleased, We could have pointed them out to you and youwould have recognized them promptly by their faces. But you willsurely know them by the tone of their speech. Allah knows all ofyour actions.
Nay! Would that you knew through the real knowledge provided toyou in this Qur'an and care about your life in the Hereafter.
Yet there are others among people who wrangle about Allah, thoughthey neither have knowledge nor guidance, nor an enlighteningBook,
twisting things around in order to lead others astray from thePath of Allah - for such persons there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment we shall make them taste thepunishment of burning fire,
saying: "This is what you prepared and sent forth with your ownhands." Rest assured that Allah is not unjust to His worshippers.
Do you not see that Allah has subjected to your benefit all thatis in the heavens and in the earth, and has lavished on you Hisevident and hidden favors? Yet there are some people who stillargue about Allah without knowledge, without guidance or anenlightening Book.
Do you not know that Allah is aware of all that is in heaven andthe earth? Certainly all of this is recorded in a Book and it isvery easy for Allah to do so.
Before this we used to find a seat in heaven for eavesdropping, but now eavesdroppers find shooting stars lying in ambush forthem.

The One to Whom you need not speak aloud; for He knows what issaid in secret and what is yet more hidden.
He (Jesus) is, in fact, a sign for the coming of the Hour ofDoom. Therefore, have no doubt about its coming, follow me; thisis the Right Way.
They ask you about the hour: "When will it come?"
But it is not for you to know or tell its timing.
Only your Rabb knows when it will come.
You are but a Warner to him who fears it.
On that Day when they shall see it, they shall feel as if theyhad stayed in this world only one evening or one morning.
High and exalted be Allah, the True King! Do not hasten to recitethe Qur'an before its revelation is completely conveyed to you,and then say: "O Rabb! Increase my knowledge."
This is how the story begins: his step brothers held a meetingand said to one another: "This Yusuf and his brother (Benjamin)are loved more by our father than us, even though we are a groupof ten and can help him more than them. In fact, our father isclearly mistaken.
Let us kill Yusuf or throw him out to some far-off land so thatthe attention of our father turns exclusively towards us, afterthat, we may again become righteous people!"
At this one of them said: "Do not kill Yusuf, but if you must, throw him into some dark well, so that he may be picked up bysome passing by caravan."
After this meeting, they asked their father: "O our father! Whyis it that you do not trust us with Yusuf, though we are hissincere well-wishers?
Whether you reveal anything or conceal it, surely Allah has fullknowledge of all things.
Further tell them: "I have no power to acquire benefit or avertany harm from myself, only that happens which Allah wants. Had Ipossessed the knowledge of the unseen I would have acquired manybenefits to myself; and no harm would have touched me. I am nomore than a Warner and bearer of good news for the truebelievers."
Say: No one in the heavens or in the earth has the knowledge ofthe unseen except Allah and their gods do not know when theyshall be raised to life again.
Have they never travelled through the earth and seen what was theend of those who have gone before them? They were more in numberand superior in strength than these and they have left behindgreat traces of their power in the land; yet all that they didwas of no avail to them.
When their Rasools came to them with clear revelations, theyproudly boasted about their own knowledge; but the veryforewarned scourge at which they mocked, hemmed them in.
When they saw Our scourge, they cried out: "We believe in Allah, the One and Only, and we reject all those gods whom we used toassociate with Him."
But after seeing Our scourge, their professing the faith (Islam)was of no use to them; such was the practice of Allah in dealingwith His servants in the past, and thus the disbelievers werelost.
