It was narrated that Jabir said: “A man from Banu ‘Udhrah said that a slave of his would be set free upon his death.[1] News of that reached the Prophet (SAW) and he said: ‘Do you have any other wealth?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Who will buyhim from me?’ Nu’aim bin ‘Abdullah Al-Adawi bought him for eight hundred Dirham. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) brought the money and gave it to him, then he said: ‘Start with yourself and give charity to yourself. If there is anything left over, then (gives) to your family. If there is anything leftover from your family, then (give) to your relatives. If there is anything leftover from your relatives, then (Spend it) like this and like this,’” meaning in front of you and to your right and to your left.
