حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَرْمِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبْجَرَ الْكِنَانِىُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو إِذْ جَاءَهُ قَهْرَمَانٌ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ فَقَالَ أَعْطَيْتَ الرَّقِيقَ قُوتَهُمْ قَالَ لاَ. قَالَ فَانْطَلِقْ فَأَعْطِهِمْ. قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ إِثْمًا أَنْ يَحْبِسَ عَمَّنْ يَمْلِكُ قُوتَهُ ».
It was narrated that Khaithama said: “We were sitting with ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr when a steward of his came in and he said: ‘Have you given the slaves their provision (of food)?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Go and give it to them.’ He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: It is sufficient sin for a man to withhold provision (of food) from the one whose provision he controls.’”
