حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِىِّ عَنْ أَبِى عُثْمَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « لاَ يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ أَذَانُ بِلاَلٍ - أَوْ قَالَ نِدَاءُ بِلاَلٍ - مِنْ سَحُورِهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُؤَذِّنُ - أَوْ قَالَ يُنَادِى - بِلَيْلٍ لِيَرْجِعَ قَائِمَكُمْ وَيُوقِظَ نَائِمَكُمْ ». وَقَالَ « لَيْسَ أَنْ يَقُولَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا -وَصَوَّبَ يَدَهُ وَرَفَعَهَا - حَتَّى يَقُولَ هَكَذَا ». وَفَرَّجَ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ.
It was narrated that Ibn Masud [may Allah be pleased with them] said, ‘Allah’s Messenger said: “No one of you should let the Adhan of Bilal or the call of Bilal’ – prevent him from eating his sahur. Rather he calls the Adhan’ – or ‘gives the call’ – ‘so that the standing (one who is praying Qiyam) may return (to rest) and the one who is asleep may awaken.’” Then he said: “‘It is not when it is like this,’ “and he moved his hand up and down, “ ‘rather it is when it is like this,’” and he spread his fingers out.
