Sahih Muslim Book - 13, Hadith - 2550
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُلَىٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِى قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « فَصْلُ مَا بَيْنَ صِيَامِنَا وَصِيَامِ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أَكْلَةُ السَّحَرِ ».
It was narrated from ‘Amr bin Al-As that the messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is eating As-Sahur (the meal before dawn).”
