It was narrated from Sabrah bin Ma'bad that during the year of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w) permitted his Companions to engage in Mut'ah marriage with women. He said: "I went out with a companion of mine from Banu Sulaim, and we found a girl from Banu 'Amir who was like a long-necked young camel. We proposed marriage to her, and showed her our Burd, and she started looking. She found me more handsome than my companion, but she saw that my companion's Burd was better than mine. She thought for a while, then she chose me over my companion. They were with us for three days, then the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) ordered us to part company with them."
