وَحَدَّثَنِى هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِى مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « أَجِيبُوا هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةَ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ لَهَا ». قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَأْتِى الدَّعْوَةَ فِى الْعُرْسِ وَغَيْرِ الْعُرْسِ وَيَأْتِيهَا وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ.
It was narrated that Nafi' said: 'I heard 'Abdullah bin 'Umar say: 'Accept this invitation if you are invited.'" He said: "And 'Abdullah used to accept invitations to weddings and other events, and he would come even if he was fasting.''
