Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said: "Mention of 'Azl was made in the presence of the Prophet (s.a.w) and he said: 'Why do you do that?' They said: 'A man may have a wife who is breastfeeding and he has intercourse with her, but he does not want her to become pregnant. And a man may have a slave woman and he has intercourse with her, but he does not want her to become pregnant.' He said: 'It does not matter if you do not do it, for it is only the Divine Decree (that decides)."' Ibn 'Awn said: "I narrated this to Al-Hasan, and he said: 'By Allah, it is as if it is a rebuke."'
